GREENSBORO, NC - WSSU junior Irene Jeptolo won her second race of the season taking first place in the Old North Championships with a time of 00:24:04.2 in the 6K run at Hagan Stone Park in nearby Greensboro, NC. With the effort, she helped lead the Lady Rams to a second place finish in ten-team event. 

Five Lady Ram runners finished in the top 20 of the event, which featured 84 collegiate runners. Only North Carolina Central had more top 20 finishes in the event. WSSU freshman Ariel Armstrong continued her great rookie season with the Lady Rams finishing fifth in the race in a time of 00:26:02.6.  Tomita Ferguson had the next best finish for the Lady Rams placing 15^th in the event in a time of 00:28.00.3. Freshman Ashley Fraser was right behind Ferguson placing 16^th in a time of 00:28.05.5.

The Lady Rams will return Hagan Stone Park next weekend when the team takes part in the Greensboro Invitational in Pleasanton, NC.
