Rams Finish Fifth at Erskine Invitational :: WSSU's Koech places 18th at the event to lead Rams

DUE WEST, SC - The Winston-Salem State Rams cross country ended the 2007 season with a fifth place finish at the Erskine Invitational, Thursday afternoon. Senior Kenneth Koech led the way for the Rams placing 18^th at the 8K event in a time of 29:18.

As a team, the Rams finished fifth in the event with a team total of 162 points. Wingate took the overall first place with 66 points, followed by North Georgia's 69 points, and 96 points by host Erskine. Newberry College took fourth place with 128 points.

Sophomore Brandon Howe had the second best finish for the Rams placing 26^th in a time of 30:33 while senior Gerrod Sidbury placed 30^th in a time of 30:57.

The race was the final one of the season for the Rams cross country team that will now look to the upcoming indoor track & field season.
