LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL - The Winston-Salem State Rams had to battle the weather and a crowded field of runners to finish 34th at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic. Senior Kenneth Koech finished 140th at the 8K event with a time of 28:53.28 to lead the Rams.

Making matters worse for the Rams was some stormy weather, which delayed matters a bit, but the Rams powered through the event. "I was so proud of the team's performance," WSSU head coach Halcyon Blake said following the event. "To battle the weather, the sand traps and the mud was unbelievable."

Fellow senior Gerrod Sidbury had the second best finish for the Rams placing 182nd at the event with a time of 29:55.49. Sophomore Brandon Howe finished 220th in a time of 31:04.16.

The Rams will wrap up the 2007 season when they head south to take part in the Erskine Cross Country Invitational.
